Nail Surgery
What is Nail Surgery?
At Worcester Podiatry, we provide nail surgery as a precise and effective solution for persistent toenail problems. Nail surgery is particularly beneficial for treating severe cases of ingrown toenails, fungal infections, or other nail conditions that haven’t responded to conservative treatments.
The procedure involves the careful removal of part or all of the affected toenail under local anaesthetic. This ensures that the area is numbed, making the surgery virtually painless. Our skilled podiatrists take great care to minimise discomfort and ensure a quick recovery.
Nail surgery can provide long-term relief by addressing the root cause of the problem. For ingrown toenails, it helps alleviate pain and prevents recurrence by removing the offending nail edge. For fungal infections, it allows for the removal of infected nail tissue, enabling better treatment of the underlying infection.
The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes, and most patients can return to their normal activities shortly afterward. Post-surgery, we provide detailed aftercare instructions to support healing and prevent complications.
If you’re struggling with a persistent nail issue and conservative treatments haven’t worked, nail surgery at Worcester Podiatry might be the solution you need.
