Verruca Needling
What is Verucca Needling?
At Worcester Podiatry, we offer a specialised treatment for stubborn verrucae called verruca needling. This effective procedure is designed for those persistent verrucae that haven’t responded to traditional treatments like topical acids or cryotherapy.
Verruca needling is a minor surgical procedure performed under local anaesthetic. The process involves puncturing the verruca multiple times with a fine needle. This stimulates the body’s immune system to recognise and fight the viral infection causing the verruca. By breaking down the viral particles and pushing them deeper into the skin layers, the immune system can better target and eliminate the verruca from within.
The procedure is typically quick, with minimal discomfort, and most patients can resume their normal activities shortly after. One of the key benefits of verruca needling is that it often requires just one session, making it a convenient option for those who have struggled with long-term verrucae.
If you have a persistent verruca that hasn’t responded to other treatments, verruca needling might be the solution you’ve been looking for.
